A Busy Day

Sunday's have become our busiest day of the week.  A few months ago, Karson was put in as the ward clerk.  He is usually gone from 6:30 until 11:30 in the morning.  Jordan usually has a nap about 1:00, but that is when church starts, so on Sunday's he usually doesn't get a nap.  This was my first week being the Young Women's president, and so I kept Jordan busy while I was getting ready.  After church, I could tell Jordan was tired, but the last few weeks have been really nice, because we could get Jordan to actually go to bed about 7:00 pm and it was not big deal that he didn't get his nap.  Since Karson had home teaching after church at 5:00 and I had a YW meeting at 6:00 I just made sandwiches for  dinner and let Jordan choose a movie he wanted to watch, (I knew it would be either The Incredibles or Tangled since those are his favirite right now).  Here I am thinking that it was perfect, because the movie would end about 6:30, then we could read a few stories afterwards and then go to bed.  Well, 3 minutes into the video, I noticed Jordan quietly sitting on the couch, sandwich down and totally a sleep.  It was fun trying to wake him up so that he would sleep tonight, but he so had other plans.

Mom And Dad White's 50th Wedding

Mom and dad wanted a simple 50th wedding anniversary, so we all went to Pine Valley, Utah and did a dutch oven dinner.  It was nice, almost all of the family was there.  Nick had to work, Nathaniel is in Portugal, Devon is in Georgia, and Kami and Zack were in Tooele.

A few minutes of fishing

The weather has been so nice that we like speding our mornings outside.  So on Saturday, we thought it would be a fun family outing to teach Jordan how to fish.  He was so excited and even got to choose his very own fishing pole! (Spiderman of course)

Jordan actually did pretty good.  He lasted a whole 2 minutes holding his own pole, of course in 30 second increments.  He is so active that he didn't quite see all of the excitement of fishing nor did he have a desire to stand or sit and watch his pole.  He did LOVE the part where he could cast his pole.

He did not catch any fish (he only lasted 30 minutes for the whole outing) but sure had fun watching the ducks and the turtle swim.  The worst part was keeping him from jumping into the water to go get the ducks.

I saw this video and just had to share.  It has such an awesome message.  There have been times in my life that I feel picked on. After watching this video, I realized that no matter how difficult or traumatic the trials we endure throughout in our lives, we can make them BEAUTIFUL.

PLAYING DRUMS

SOMETIMES WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO UNLOAD THE DISHWASHER, SOME OF THE DISHES ARE JUST GREAT MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. JORDAN PULLED SOME DISHED FROM THE DISHWASHER AND STARTED BEATING ON THEM. IT WAS ALL FINE AND DANDY FOR THE FIRST LITTLE BIT, BUT HE DID BREAK A CHUNK OFF THE WOODEN SPOON. NOT SURE IF THE WOODEN SPOON HAD A WEAK SPOT FROM OVERUSE OR IF JORDAN WAS BANGING TOO HARD, BUT HE MANAGED TO BREAK A CHUNK OFF THE WOODEN SPOON. IT ALL WENT DOWN HILL FROM THERE. HE MAY LOOK INNOCENT, BUT THERE IS A GLEAM OF DESTRUCTION IN HIS EYES.

THE RESULT

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A 2 YEAR OLD, OVERLY HYPER, DESTRUCTIVE LITTLE BOY IS CAPABLE OF DOING IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS.

How to get into the bath

We are getting ready to go see the movie The Hunger Games on Friday, so Karson was listening to the book at home. Well, it was time to start getting ready for bed, and of course, I was distracted with listening to the book, but I did start Jordan's bath water. I am standing just outside of the bathroom, and knew Jordan was watching the water, because he help put his bath crayons and bubbles in the tub. Well, I do a quick check and find he also put himself in the tub...sheesh.
So I continue to listen Jordan and the Hunger Games in the kitchen with Karson, but am not fully paying attention to what is going on in the bathroom, then all of the sudden I hear the toilet flush. At our house, if Jordan is involved, that generally means, something is being flushed that shouldn't. So I quickly move to the bathroom to find Jordan has plopped himself on the toilet, cheering himself on for going potty in the big boy potty and flushing the toilet. It was so funny, here is a soaking wet little boy slipping and sliding on the toilet, while continually flushing the toilet. I didn't get video of that, because he was struggling not to fall in. I am hoping that this means he will be easy to potty train this summer.
The moral of this story, funny things happen when mom and dad are not paying attention and its the Hunger Games fault.

It's my Party and I'll Cry if I want to!

I can't believe that Jordan is 2! It is amazing how fast time goes by. Jordan has such a funny personality, but you wouldn't know it based on his birthday videos. He woke up early that morning and went ALL day long without a nap! By 5 o'clock he was so TIRED. It was funny though, because he CRIED the whole time, but wouldn't let us touch anything. He just kept saying "No! Jordi's"

Then we tried to sing Happy Birthday to him, and he stopped crying long enough to blow the candles out.

It was quite the challenge to stay patient during Jordan's whole party, but we survived. We finally decided to quit torchering Jordan and let him go to bed for the night. After his bath, it took less than 2 minutes for him to finally collapse for the night. Even though he was tired, we still tried to have a little birthday party for him, even if he cried through most of it.
